Creating a better environment

The Company is passionate about Ecology and our Social Responsibility and operates to strict targets within day to day business.

The business is one of the leading players investing in and working together with the industries association AVA (Automatic Vending Association) to achieve national industry policies that really do have an impact on improving all areas of the environment. Our Chief Operating Officer is currently serving a two year term as National Chairman of the Association and is pushing through many new initiatives for the industry. In addition our Scottish regional Director is Chairman of the Scottish region.

We are currently working closely with:

Fair Trade: We are great supporters of Fair Trade and now buy almost 30% of all our tea and coffee products through Fair Trade organisations. We also buy a significant amount of Fair Trade chocolate and other snack and confectionary products.

Many of our larger clients including PricewaterhouseCoopers lead the way and have now opted to go Fair Trade for both tea and coffee in all their vending machines around the UK.

Save a Cup for plastic and paper: We are one of the largest users of Save a Cup, the industry scheme which facilitates the collection and recycling of plastic vending cups. We are working closely with the paper industry to recycle paper cups and now have a number of collection points

c10c (WEEE): We fully comply with Weee, even though it not yet law and now recycle electrical and electronic equipment waste including vending machines, cashless systems and other white goods.

Our Recycling Strategy: All our regional centres of excellence and most of our client static sites recycle all waste including aluminium, paper, cardboard, plastics, pallets and machine and product packaging. Our staff are educated to ensure that our recycling targets of 70% of waste is correctly collected and recycled. We have also joined forces with Wasteconnect - The UK's Public Recycling Database which allows our client base to join the scheme. Wasteconnect is a comprehensive reference site for recycling points throughout the country. Please click here for further information.

Low emission standards: We are now purchasing the latest LPG and electric hybrid cars and vans in place of diesel for our city operators and engineers. We now have 16 on the fleet and this is increasing monthly.

These are just a few examples of the multitudes of initiatives both large and small which are a hallmark of our development.
